As the Director General since 2004, I am very pleased to welcome you to our school. At Florimont we are proud of our threefold cultural heritage as a school which is profoundly rooted in Geneva and yet also French and international. The school has the advantage of 117 years of experience of teaching and learning. This expertise is combined with modern practice so that pupils receive a well-rounded education.

Traditionally, we are a Christian school. However, we also welcome other religions and embrace contemporary secular moral beliefs. These diverse sources of inspiration develop our pupils’ sense of spirituality, teaching them to be open-minded, striving for the common good and the principles of tolerance and solidarity.

This prepares them for later life, as fully-fledged, responsible adult citizens.

As regards to our approach to teaching: Florimont’s reputation is built on academic excellence and successful examination results. This is what has always enabled our pupils to attend the most prestigious universities in the world.

Florimont is placing increasing emphasis on the sciences and also offers a bilingual stream from nursery school to the final year.

The school has put in place a common core programme, preparing pupils in the Cycle (Middle School) to choose the Secondary track that most suits their profile, either the Swiss maturité, the French baccalauréat or the International Baccalaureate.
