On 16 May 2025, a framework agreement was signed by Claudia Scherer-Effosse,Director General of AEFE (Agency for French Education Abroad), and GESBF (Association of Swiss schools offering French Baccalauréat). The event took place at the residence of the Consulate General of France in Geneva and was attended by HE Marion Paradas, French Ambassador to France in Switzerland and Liechtenstein, and Clément Leclerc, Consul General for France in Geneva.

The new agreement means that GESBF schools – of which Institut Florimont is one – are to begin the accreditation process for Première and Terminale years. Institut Florimont is to start this process over the summer and, when approved by France’s Minister for Education in June next year, will see our school become a member of the AEFE French education network from September 2026, along with 600 schools and over 398,000 students in 138 countries.

This partnership will mean Florimont will continue to enter candidates in accredited levels for the French Baccalauréat, as well as giving them access to the AEFE’s numerous events and projects.

Speaking on behalf of the AEFE, Claudia Scherer-Effosse said:
“All GESBF schools have a strong identity and are a key feature of the Swiss educational landscape. We are extremely proud to be enhancing the AEFE network with the qualities, values and objectives that you bring… I believe that we all share the common goal of striving for educational excellence through challenge, cooperation and openness to the world.”

This agreement follows the recent formation of Institut Florimont’s partnership with Academica to offer the Dual Diploma, and is a new sign of the strength and compliance of our French Baccalauréat section.
