Institut Florimont and Collège Sévigné Establish Partnership to Advance Multilingualism, Pedagogical Innovation, and Educational AI
Institut Florimont was delighted to host Collège Sévigné in Geneva for a meeting that marked a significant step in bringing together two institutions with a shared educational vision. The Sévigné delegation—Jean-Pierre de Giorgio, Giulia Puma, Catherine Krzysostaniac, and Alan Yvon—met with Sean Power, Carine Capel, and Yann Houry to discuss the contemporary challenges of multilingualism, pedagogical innovation, and the impact of artificial intelligence on education. Caroline Gorin and Daniel Eves will also contribue their expertise via Florimont’s research, innovation and development hub, as well as in the multilingualism and translanguaging projects.
The meeting revealed strong alignment between the two schools’ approaches. Both Florimont and Sévigné are committed to language immersion, supporting multilingual learners, and exploring translanguaging practices in a thoughtful and informed way. This shared perspective reflects a forward-thinking approach that resonates with the linguistic, cultural, and educational contexts of schools in both France and Switzerland.
The visit concluded with agreement on three key areas of collaboration. Both institutions will organise a joint study day on multilingualism, differentiation, and educational artificial intelligence, open to other European schools. They will also launch creative pedagogical projects that engage pupils through digital tools, artificial intelligence, and oral communication. Finally, Florimont and Sévigné will work together to develop a locally-based, secure, and independent artificial intelligence system designed specifically for education and responsive to linguistic diversity.
This partnership represents a clear commitment to fostering innovative education grounded in academic excellence and the responsible use of technology.
